Israeli envoy says Kuwait could join Abraham Accords within months

Israel's ambassador to the United Arab Emirates has forecast that another country could join the Abraham Accords within four to six months, naming Kuwait as a possible next partner. Ambassador Yossi Shelley made the prediction in an interview with Kan News, marking the sixth anniversary of the UAE's entry into the normalization agreements. "I estimate that we're talking about within four months to half a year," Shelley said. When asked which country might follow, he pointed to Kuwait but stopped short of certainty. "Maybe we're in for a surprise. I know everyone is working on it. I think, based on my interpretation and what I'm learning from academia, that the Kuwaitis are also beginning to understand that something has happened, and maybe this will be the next sign of what's to come." Kuwait has not confirmed the ambassador's remarks. The Gulf state has traditionally maintained a firm position against normalization without a resolution of the Palestinian issue. Shelley also used the interview to describe the current Israel-UAE relationship as experiencing a "dramatic upswing.
