Israel and Greece Sign 3 Billion Euro Defense Deal

Israel and Greece signed a landmark defense agreement on Monday, August 31, 2026, valued at approximately 3 billion euros ($3.5 billion), marking the largest arms deal between the two nations. The deal, dubbed "Achilles Shield," will see Israel construct a comprehensive, multilayered air and missile defense network for Greece, integrating several of its most advanced systems. The agreement was signed at the Israeli Defense Ministry's headquarters in Tel Aviv by the ministry's director general, Major General Amir Baram, and his Greek counterpart, Ioannis Bouras.
