Isak scores twice as Liverpool win 2-0

Liverpool secured their first Premier League victory of the season on Friday, defeating promoted Ipswich Town 2-0 at Portman Road. The win, which marks the first under new manager Andoni Iraola, was sealed by two early goals from striker Alexander Isak, both assisted by Cody Gakpo. Isak found the net in the fifth minute, capitalizing on a precise pass from Gakpo that split the Ipswich defense. Just three minutes later, Gakpo again turned provider, setting up Isak for his second goal. The quickfire strikes gave Liverpool a commanding lead within the opening nine minutes, a stark contrast to their previous two matches which both ended in 2-2 draws. The victory also saw Liverpool achieve their first clean sheet of the campaign. New signing Bradley Barcola made his debut for Liverpool, entering the match as a second-half substitute in the 64th minute. The French forward joined the club for a reported fee of £123 million earlier in the week. Liverpool's win moves them to fifth in the league standings with five points from three games. Ipswich Town, who have three points from the same number of matches, sit in 13th place.
