Iraola confirms Barcola available for Liverpool vs Ipswich
Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola confirmed that new signing Bradley Barcola will be available for selection for Friday's Premier League match against Ipswich Town, but indicated the forward is more likely to make his debut from the bench. The France international completed a reported £123 million move from Paris Saint-Germain earlier this week and has trained with his new teammates three times. Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Iraola said Barcola would "definitely" be available for the trip to Portman Road provided there are no issues in the final training session. However, the manager acknowledged that Barcola's lack of preseason minutes is a key consideration. "It's a good question. I see him in a good place. He has trained with us three times. It is true he hasn't had minutes in preseason but he has been training as normal with the group. It's a decision we have to make," Iraola stated. The manager expressed satisfaction with Barcola's attitude and desire to join the club. "We are very happy with Bradley. It was our priority to sign a very, very good player in that position. He has come also with the right mentality. I liked that he wanted Liverpool a lot.
