Iran Thanks Pakistan for Peace Efforts as Ministers Meet in Tehran

Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with his Iranian counterpart Eskandar Momeni in Tehran on Sunday, with Iran publicly thanking Pakistan for its efforts toward regional peace and stability. The meeting focused on bilateral relations and existing agreements, with Iranian officials explicitly stating that no specific message or proposal from the United States was conveyed through Pakistan during the visit. During the talks, Momeni thanked Pakistan's leadership, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, for their continuous efforts to establish peace in the region. "We are grateful for Pakistan's continuous efforts to establish peace in the region and the recent visit was very beneficial," Momeni was quoted as saying. Naqvi responded that bilateral relations between Pakistan and Iran will become even stronger in the coming days. Iran's foreign ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei clarified that the visit was entirely within the framework of bilateral discussions and follow-up to previous understandings between the two countries.
