Iran’s Guards Appeal to U.S. Voters for Policy Change

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has published an open letter urging Americans to oppose U.S. policies toward Iran and arguing that the two countries could coexist peacefully if Washington changed course. The appeal, addressed to the American public, criticizes U.S. support for Israel and involvement in foreign conflicts, while advancing Tehran’s position on the ongoing war and its nuclear program. The IRGC presented the letter as a message to U.S. voters, including ahead of the midterm elections. Spokesperson Hossein Mohebbi said the organization did not expect the document to change the administration’s behavior, but suggested that voters might respond differently if they had more information about developments. The letter’s length was reported as 25 pages in some accounts and 26 pages in another. The document rejects the U.S. rationale for military action and says Iran is not seeking nuclear weapons. It also disputes U.S. claims that Iran has lost leverage over the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for oil shipments.
