Iran IRGC Warns of New Weapons, Targets if US Attacks Again

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned on Monday it would deploy new weapons and strike new targets if the United States launches fresh attacks, as both sides traded threats ahead of the UN General Assembly. The IRGC spokesperson, Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi, stated that a renewed U.S. offensive would trigger significant changes in Iran's military strategy, including a shift in the geography of the conflict and the introduction of previously unused strategic capabilities. "We will bring new weapons with new capabilities into the battlefield, and the world will be astonished," Mohebbi said, adding that Iran had prepared for a "longterm war." He claimed the IRGC had identified new targets that had not been struck during the earlier phase of the conflict. The statements came as the U.S. and Iran remained locked in a stalemate nearly seven months into the war, with tensions escalating over the weekend. The warnings followed a series of Houthi attacks on Saturday targeting the Saudi capital Riyadh and Aramco facilities in the Red Sea port city of Yanbu. The Iran-aligned group used ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones in the assault.
