Indian-origin woman arrested in Canada after viral tenant dispute

Published 12 September 2026

An Indian-origin woman, identified as Raj Tiwana, was arrested by Surrey Police in Surrey, Canada, following a series of viral social media videos posted by her tenant that documented alleged harassment and assault. The tenant created an Instagram account, tiwanafarmsurvivor, to share footage of the dispute, which quickly gained widespread attention online. The videos show multiple confrontations between Tiwana and the tenant. In one clip, she is seen arguing over a barbecue grill, attempting to throw steaks off it, and threatening to call the police. Another video purportedly shows her entering the tenant's unit and throwing stones at him. The tenant is heard telling her to leave his unit and not to touch him. The tenant also claimed that men entered his property and changed the locks without permission, and that Tiwana intentionally switched off his power. The dispute reportedly began over the tenant's use of a barbecue on the property. Tiwana allegedly objected to the grilling, with the tenant stating he was allowed to have friends over for dinner as he paid rent. The confrontation escalated into a wider conflict, with the tenant alleging physical assault and harassment.
