India, China advance boundary talks, strengthen LAC management
India and China have agreed to advance negotiations on a framework for settling their long-standing boundary dispute and to strengthen mechanisms for managing the contested Line of Actual Control, marking a significant step in stabilizing bilateral ties. The understanding was reached during the 25th round of talks between Indian National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing on August 25, 2026. The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining peace and tranquility along the border to foster the healthy development of bilateral relations.
