Imran Khan's Sons Accuse Army Chief of Personal Vendetta

The sons of jailed former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan have accused Army Chief Asim Munir of pursuing a personal vendetta against their father, alleging he is being slowly killed in prison. Kasim Khan, 27, and Sulaiman Khan, 29, speaking from London, said they were deeply concerned about their 73-year-old father's health and described his conditions at Adiala prison in Rawalpindi as a form of mental and physical torture. The allegations emerged as Pakistan's Supreme Court heard a case concerning Khan's medical treatment and access to his family. The court had on August 18 ordered authorities to transfer Khan from Adiala jail to the private Shifa International Hospital for assessment by a specialist medical board. Instead, Khan was taken to the government-run Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) before being returned to prison, with officials citing security concerns. Khan's family filed contempt proceedings alleging authorities failed to comply with the court order. Sulaiman Khan stated his father is held in a solitary cell measuring approximately 6 feet by 8 feet without human contact.
