Imam-ul-Haq injury scrutiny follows past allegations

Pakistan batter Imam-ul-Haq is facing scrutiny over a calf injury sustained during the second Test against England at Lord's, with former players questioning the legitimacy of the ailment and raising concerns about past incidents. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is reportedly investigating the circumstances surrounding the injury, which has cast a shadow over the ongoing series. Imam-ul-Haq was ruled out of the Lord's Test after suffering what was described as a Grade 1 tear in his left calf while fielding on the opening day. He did not bat in Pakistan's first innings, and scans later confirmed the injury, with medical advice suggesting 10 days of rest. This absence left Pakistan a batter short in a crucial match. However, on the fourth day of the Test, Imam was observed warming up on the sidelines with his calf taped and appeared to be limping. Former England fast bowler Stuart Broad publicly questioned the player's actions, suggesting the display was "all for show" and could have been done privately if the injury were severe. Broad stated he was unimpressed by the visible hobbling and taping in front of cameras.
