Published 24 October 2026

An affordable air purifier developed by IIT Bombay research scholar Rohan Kumar is scheduled for launch in December 2026, with its reported performance based on internal testing that has not been independently verified. The Enviroforge device combines natural fibres, adsorbent materials, beneficial bacteria and indoor plants to treat indoor air, Kumar said. Kumar’s reported result has not been certified or independently checked by an external laboratory, so it remains an unverified performance claim. The device uses layers intended to address different pollutants. Fibres including bamboo, coconut, banana and jute, alongside muslin, cotton, silk and micronanofibrillated cellulose, are intended to trap dust and particulate matter such as PM2.5 and PM10.
