ICE Launches Tip Line for Commercial Driver's License Fraud

Published 10 September 2026

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has launched a new tip line for the public to report suspected commercial driver's license (CDL) fraud. The initiative, operated by ICE's Homeland Security Investigations, is part of a broader federal effort alongside the Department of Transportation (DOT) to address fraudulent licensing nationwide. DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin stated that the crackdown is intended to improve road safety, asserting that "too many American lives have been lost or permanently changed because illegal aliens who have no business being on our roads have been granted CDLs." The agency cited several crashes involving foreign-born drivers who had obtained commercial licenses as justification for the intensified enforcement.
