IBM Links Digital Asset Haven to Swift Ledger in Beta
IBM announced a beta integration connecting its Digital Asset Haven platform to Swift’s shared ledger, allowing participating financial institutions to instruct tokenized-deposit transactions through familiar payment messages. The company also opened an on-premises beta that lets regulated institutions run the platform in their own data centers, without relying on public-cloud infrastructure. The integration uses a beta ISO 20022 messaging adapter, IBM said on September 24. ISO 20022 is a standard for financial messaging. The adapter is intended to let institutions initiate tokenized-deposit activity on Swift’s ledger through existing payment formats and operational processes, rather than building blockchain-specific workflows. IBM said institutions in Swift’s program had tested tokenized deposits on the ledger using Digital Asset Haven, but did not name participants or provide test results. Swift’s shared ledger is being piloted by 17 banks, according to the reports. It is designed to support bank-issued tokenized deposits and coordinate payment activity around the clock.
