Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts delivered a pointed response to Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons after leading a game-winning drive in a 24-20 victory on Sunday. Simmons had stated earlier in the week that the Titans' defensive plan was to "make Jalen Hurts be a quarterback" by stopping his runs and keeping him in the pocket. With the Eagles trailing 20-17 and 1:56 remaining, Hurts orchestrated a nine-play, 65-yard drive with no timeouts. He capped the march by throwing a 3-yard touchdown pass to Darius Cooper with nine seconds left. During his postgame interview with FOX's Kristina Pink, Hurts was approached by Simmons for a handshake. As captured on video, Hurts told the Titans star, "You started that shit, I had to finish." The comment directly referenced Simmons' pregame remarks. Hurts acknowledged he was aware of Simmons' comments during the week. "I heard it," Hurts said after the game. "I'm happy we won." Simmons later clarified that his initial statement was not intended as a shot at Hurts.
