Hunter Biden's LAPTOP Crypto Token Crashes 98% After Launch

Published 10 September 2026

The cryptocurrency token LAPTOP, associated with Hunter Biden, experienced a dramatic collapse on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, losing approximately 95-98% of its value within hours of its launch. The token, which began trading at a low price, surged to a peak near $199-$223 before plummeting to around $1.34-$1.36 by midafternoon. This rapid decline wiped out significant value for most traders, with on-chain analytics firm Bubblemaps reporting that about 80% of participants ended up with losses spread across thousands of wallets. The foundation behind the LAPTOP token has denied accusations of a scam, attributing the severe price swing to automated trading bots and thin market liquidity. According to the foundation's statement, released early Thursday, September 10, predatory sniper bots amplified price volatility, overwhelming market makers as demand surged. The project's official account on X was suspended shortly after the crash, prompting the foundation to work on account restoration. In an effort to stabilize the token, the foundation announced plans to add 4 million LAPTOP tokens to Aerodrome liquidity pools starting at midnight UTC on September 10.
