Huawei Launches Watch GT 7 Series With Advanced Sports Tracking
Huawei has launched its new Watch GT 7 and GT 7 Pro smartwatches globally, featuring advanced sports tracking for skiing and cycling, extended battery life, and premium build materials. The devices, which were first announced in China in August 2026, became available for purchase in the United Kingdom on September 2, 2026. The GT 7 series introduces specialized features for winter sports, including indoor snow sports tracking that uses multiple sensors to detect skiing and snowboarding movements without a GPS signal. For outdoor skiing, the Huawei Health app provides maps for more than 3,000 ski resorts. The watches also offer a new Turn Detection feature that counts turns and G-Force tracking to measure centrifugal force during sharp corners. A TeamUp function allows groups to see each other's locations in real time on the mountain. Cyclists receive dedicated tools such as Climb Planning, which reveals upcoming climbs before a ride, and Climb Broadcast, which provides real-time gradient and distance information during an ascent. Sharp Turn Alerts use haptic and voice warnings for approaching corners too quickly.
