Harry Returns to UK for Diana's 29th Death Anniversary

Prince Harry has returned to the United Kingdom with his family, arriving just in time to mark the 29th anniversary of his mother Princess Diana's death. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, along with their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, have relocated from California, making this their first permanent return in six years. The anniversary of Diana's passing in a Paris car crash on August 31, 1997, falls on September 1, 2026. Harry's homecoming is seen as particularly poignant given the date. Royal expert Jennie Bond, who knew Diana, suggested the late princess would have approved of her son's return. Bond noted that Diana herself considered living in the United States after her divorce and would have understood Harry's initial move abroad, but might have ultimately felt the pull of home. She added that Diana would have been pleased Harry found love and happiness but would not have allowed the rift with his brother, Prince William, to persist. The brothers are expected to mark the anniversary separately, continuing a pattern of estrangement that has deepened over recent years.
