Harry Returns to UK for Diana's 29th Death Anniversary

Published 1 September 2026

Prince Harry has returned to the United Kingdom with his family, arriving just in time to mark the 29th anniversary of his mother Princess Diana's death. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, along with their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, have relocated from California, making this their first permanent return in six years. The anniversary of Diana's passing in a Paris car crash on August 31, 1997, falls on September 1, 2026. Harry's homecoming is seen as particularly poignant given the date. Royal expert Jennie Bond, who knew Diana, suggested the late princess would have approved of her son's return.
