Hanuman Ansh director announces Tulsidas biopic RamBola amid title dispute

Filmmaker Vishal Chaturvedi has announced his next project, a biopic on the 16th-century saint-poet Goswami Tulsidas, titled RamBola. The announcement, made by production house Mahaveer Jain Films, comes on the heels of the blockbuster success of Chaturvedi's recent film, Hanuman Ansh. The project, which Chaturvedi will write and direct, is produced by Mahaveer Jain, Chaturvedi, Amit Upadhyay, and Raghuvendra Singh. According to the makers, RamBola will chronicle the life, devotion, and literary legacy of Tulsidas, who is revered for authoring the Ramcharitmanas, an influential Awadhi translation of the Ramayana. The film aims to trace his transformation from a devout seeker into one of Indian literature's most formidable spiritual figures. The announcement has immediately sparked a title dispute. Filmmaker Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi has publicly objected, claiming he had already registered the title RamBola for his own upcoming film on Tulsidas. Dwivedi, known for directing Pinjar and Samrat Prithviraj, shared a first-look poster for his project on social media, stating it is backed by producers Madhu Mantena and Mandira Dwivedi.
