Hamilton calls for Ferrari title focus

Lewis Hamilton has called on Ferrari to prioritize his Formula One world championship challenge, expressing frustration with the team's execution during qualifying for the Italian Grand Prix at Monza. The seven-time world champion qualified fifth, one place behind teammate Charles Leclerc, and narrowly avoided elimination in the second qualifying session by just 0.001 seconds. Following a three-place grid penalty for McLaren's Oscar Piastri, Hamilton was promoted to fourth on the grid, with Leclerc moving to third. Hamilton, who trails championship leader Kimi Antonelli by 59 points with 11 races remaining, voiced significant concern that Ferrari's strategy and operational decisions are jeopardizing his title hopes. He pointed to a lengthy wait in the pit lane during Q2, which he said prevented the team from executing their planned tire strategy and left him with only one competitive lap. Hamilton also described his Q3 run as being out of rhythm due to being sent out too late, losing valuable time without the benefit of a slipstream from other cars. "We do have to work as a team," Hamilton stated, emphasizing the large points gap to the leader.
