Hadjar injury sidelines him for Spanish GP, Lawson continues

Isack Hadjar will miss a third consecutive Formula 1 Grand Prix this weekend as he continues to recover from a wrist injury, with Liam Lawson once again set to deputize for the French driver at the Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid. Red Bull confirmed on Monday evening that Hadjar is not yet ready to return to the cockpit, despite his recovery progressing positively. Lawson will continue in the senior Red Bull car alongside Max Verstappen for the inaugural race at the new Madring Circuit. Concurrently, Yuki Tsunoda will remain in the second Racing Bulls seat for a third successive event. Red Bull stated that while Hadjar is not cleared to race, he will be present in Madrid to support the team. The team anticipates his return to racing "very soon." Hadjar sustained a fractured wrist during a boxing session as part of his physical training over the Formula 1 summer break. The injury previously ruled him out of the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort and the Italian Grand Prix at Monza. Red Bull has opted for caution, particularly with the demanding nature of the new Madring circuit making its debut this weekend. Lawson has stepped in for Hadjar for the past two rounds.
