Gurugram Hit-and-Run Accused Arrested in Rajasthan, Faces Murder Charge

Kalyan Bainsla, the car driver accused of deliberately ramming a woman biker in Gurugram, was arrested by police in Rajasthan on Tuesday and is being brought back to face charges including attempt to murder. The arrest marks a major development in the case that has drawn widespread attention after a viral video of the incident surfaced online. Gurugram Police confirmed Bainsla was apprehended in Dausa, Rajasthan, following a manhunt. A police team had traveled to the state to locate him after he had been absconding since the collision on Sunday morning. He is now being transferred to Gurugram for further questioning and to be presented in court. The case escalated significantly after police analyzed CCTV footage from the incident on Golf Course Road. Based on this analysis, authorities added a charge of attempt to murder under Section 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which carries a potential sentence of up to 10 years in prison. The case was initially registered for rash driving and causing injury. The victim, Shivani Chauhan, who identifies herself as Sia, has alleged the collision was a deliberate act.
