Grande's Scream Queens Role in AHS 13 Didn't Happen

Ryan Murphy said Ariana Grande was expected to reprise her Scream Queens character Chanel 2 in the 13th season of American Horror Story, but her tour schedule conflicted with the planned filming weekend and the crossover did not happen. Murphy described the plan in an interview ahead of the American Horror Story season 13 premiere. He said Grande had wanted to take part but warned that touring would make scheduling difficult. The weekend set aside for filming coincided with her tour, Murphy said, so he postponed the idea rather than abandon it. The appearance would have brought Scream Queens characters into American Horror Story for the first time, according to Murphy. Grande played Chanel 2 in the horror comedy, which Murphy co-created with Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan. Her character was killed in the first season. Scream Queens ran for two seasons on Fox, from 2015 to 2016. Murphy said he remains open to returning to Scream Queens, but described a revival as a possibility rather than a confirmed project. He said Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Lea Michele and Grande want to take part, and also named Glen Powell. No development or production order was reported.
