Google September Android Drop Adds Find Hub Memory, Motion Assist, and Messaging Tools

Google on September 1, 2026, launched its September Android feature drop, introducing a suite of new tools across its ecosystem designed to help users manage personal items, reduce motion sickness, and enhance accessibility and messaging. The update, which rolls out through Google's apps and services rather than a full platform update, brings practical additions to Find Hub, Gemini, and Google Messages, with availability varying by feature and Android version. The centerpiece of the update is an expansion of the Find Hub app, which now allows users to save the locations of items that do not have a physical tracker attached. On devices running Android 16 and newer, users can instruct the Gemini assistant to remember where they placed an object, such as a passport or spare keys. The location is then stored in a new "remembered items" tab within Find Hub, allowing users to later ask Gemini or check the app to retrieve the information. Google officials said the feature is designed to provide a lightweight memory layer for everyday essentials and will be available soon in countries where Gemini and Find Hub are supported.
