Google brings Gemini Live Avatar to enterprise customers
Google has made Live Avatar, a feature that gives its Gemini 3.8 Live conversational AI a generated, animated face, available to Gemini Enterprise customers in the United States and European Union. The company says the system synchronizes video with speech, including lip movements and facial expressions, and can respond to visual as well as audio inputs. The release extends Gemini 3.8 Live, which Google introduced days earlier. Enterprise customers can deploy the avatar through web interfaces, mobile apps and kiosks, according to the product announcement. Demonstrations described in the materials include a hotel check-in in which the avatar continues talking while retrieving reservation details, though those examples do not establish how well the feature performs in routine deployments. Google says Live Avatar can process audio and visual information at the same time, including camera feeds and screen shares. It can also initiate background actions, such as database lookups, while maintaining the conversation. The company presents these functions for customer-facing services, product walkthroughs and other enterprise interactions where a visual agent may be useful.
