Gold edges higher as silver reference rate falls ₹5,000

Published 13 October 2026

Indicative gold prices in India edged higher on October 13, while the reported domestic reference price for silver fell ₹5,000 per kilogram to ₹2.35 lakh, according to rates published for the day. The gold and silver figures reflect different movements, and the supplied silver prices for individual cities were above the stated reference rate. The reported national gold rates were ₹14,929 per gram for 24-karat gold, ₹13,685 for 22-karat and ₹11,197 for 18-karat. The figures represented a marginal daily increase, while rates varied slightly by city. Delhi’s quoted 24-karat price was ₹14,944 per gram; Lucknow and Jaipur were listed at ₹14,981. The rates for Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and several other cities were ₹14,929 per gram. The silver reference price declined from ₹2.40 lakh to ₹2.35 lakh per kilogram, a reported decrease of about 2.08%. The October 13 city listings, however, put silver at ₹2.40 lakh per kilogram in several places and ₹2.45 lakh in Chennai and some other locations. Those quoted city rates do not match the stated national reference price, so the figures should not be treated as interchangeable.
