Gerrard criticizes Liverpool after 2-2 draw with Forest

Published 29 August 2026

Liverpool were held to a 2-2 draw by Nottingham Forest at Anfield on Saturday, leaving new manager Andoni Iraola still searching for his first Premier League win. The result means Liverpool have opened their season with back-to-back draws, having also drawn 2-2 with Newcastle United the previous week. Forest took the lead twice through Dan Ndoye and a Morgan Gibbs-White penalty, but Liverpool fought back on both occasions with goals from Alexander Isak and new signing Victor Munoz. The draw extended a strong recent record for Forest at Anfield, where they have now taken seven points from their last three visits.
