GE Aerospace to Buy CPP for $11.75 Billion
GE Aerospace announced on Tuesday it will acquire Consolidated Precision Products (CPP) for $11.75 billion, a move aimed at significantly expanding its production capacity for critical aerospace components amid persistent industry bottlenecks. The transaction, which is the largest acquisition for GE Aerospace since its separation from General Electric, will be funded by $7 billion in cash and new debt. The deal is expected to close in the second half of 2027, pending regulatory approval. CPP, a supplier to GE Aerospace for over 15 years, employs approximately 6,600 people across more than 20 facilities. The company specializes in highly engineered castings used in commercial aircraft engines, defense systems, and aftermarket programs. GE Aerospace stated that bringing CPP in-house is intended to address a critical industry bottleneck and secure capacity for its substantial engine backlog, which has ballooned to $210 billion. Company executives anticipate the acquisition will be accretive to adjusted earnings per share and free cash flow within the first year after closing.
