Gaza Funeral for 100 Recovered From Rubble

Gaza City - Hundreds of Palestinians gathered on Sunday, September 6, 2026, for a mass funeral in Gaza City, mourning approximately 100 individuals whose remains were recently recovered from the rubble of destroyed residential buildings. The recovery process has been arduous, with bodies lying beneath collapsed structures for years following Israeli airstrikes. The recovered remains included those of 55 members of the Malka family, who were killed in November 2023 when Israeli airstrikes destroyed high-rise residential buildings in the Zeitoun neighborhood. Other families identified among the deceased include the Irahem, Qanbour, Balawi, and Dahdouh families.
