Gandhinagar Building Collapse Traps Workers

Published 9 September 2026

A portion of an under-construction commercial building collapsed at the Bosky The Empire site in Kudasan, Gandhinagar, on the evening of September 9, 2026, trapping an unknown number of workers. Emergency services, including police and fire brigades, were immediately dispatched to the scene to conduct a large-scale nighttime rescue operation. Initial reports indicated that between 10 and 15 workers might have been trapped beneath the debris following the collapse, which occurred around 9:00 to 9:15 p.m. Rescue teams worked to clear heavy iron structures and concrete debris. Four workers were initially reported rescued and taken to Gandhinagar Civil Hospital for treatment. However, one official later stated that 13 people had been rescued. Conflicting accounts emerged regarding the condition of the injured. While some reports indicated one worker was in critical condition, hospital officials stated that two patients suffered spine injuries and the others were stable, with none in critical condition. Six emergency ambulance vehicles were involved in transporting the injured, with officials directing that all necessary medical facilities be provided at the local hospital.
