Galil Recalls Lior Cinnamon Lot After Lead Testing

Galil Importing Corp. has announced a voluntary recall of one lot of its Lior Cinnamon Ground Seasoning after a sample tested by the Maryland Department of Health was reported to contain elevated levels of lead. The affected product was distributed in six states from November 18, 2025, through September 7, 2026, according to the recall notice posted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The recall covers Lior seasoning in a clear, 90-gram plastic container with UPC 794711005484 and lot code GAP11304. The lot code appears on the side of the container beneath the ingredient line. The product was distributed to retail stores, grocery stores, delis and supermarkets in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Texas, Florida and Illinois. The company notice says the recall followed testing of a sample collected and analyzed by the Maryland Department of Health. The amount of lead detected was not disclosed in the materials describing the recall, and the underlying laboratory results were not provided. The FDA-posted notice said no illnesses had been reported as of the announcement. That status does not establish whether anyone was exposed or whether illness reports may change later.
