Gabrielle Henry sues over Miss Universe stage fall

Former Miss Universe Jamaica Gabrielle Henry filed a lawsuit in Delaware Superior Court on September 21, accusing Miss Universe-related entities of negligence over a fall during the 2025 competition in Thailand that she says left her with a brain injury and disrupted her medical training. The claims have not been decided by a court, and responsibility for the fall remains disputed. The lawsuit names the Miss Universe Organization, JKN Legacy Inc., Legacy Holding Group USA and MGI. Henry alleges that on November 19, 2025, she fell about five feet through an unmarked, uncovered opening in the stage during the preliminary evening gown competition. Her complaint says the opening contained lighting equipment and concrete, and that bright lights impaired her ability to see the stage. It also alleges that contestants had raised concerns about lighting and staging and that bright lights were added along the stage edge after the fall. A joint statement issued by Henry’s family and the Miss Universe Organization on December 8, 2025, described bleeding inside her skull, loss of consciousness, a fracture and facial injuries.
