Published 18 September 2026

Four individuals, including three minors, have been apprehended in connection with the alleged gangrape and murder of a teenage girl in Outer North Delhi, police said. The victim's decomposed body was discovered in an open field in Swaroop Nagar on September 13, prompting a major investigation. According to police, the incident occurred on the night of September 10, when the victim went to meet a 17-year-old acquaintance. He allegedly called three friends, and the group spent time together before the girl was sexually assaulted. When she threatened to report the crime, the suspects allegedly stabbed her multiple times and dumped her body near bushes. The victim's body was found the following morning near Jaipal Rana's field on Kushak Road. Police said it had decomposed to the extent that gender could not be immediately ascertained. A postmortem examination revealed approximately six to eight stab wounds. The investigation involved analyzing footage from over 50 CCTV cameras. Officers spotted a tempo moving near the crime scene around the relevant time. The vehicle's registration number was not clearly visible, but investigators tracked its movement across multiple locations.
