Four arrested on suspicion of murder after baby's death
Four people have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a three-month-old baby girl in Staffordshire. The child was found unresponsive on land off Strawberry Lane, near Great Wyrley, on Saturday, September 5, 2026. Emergency services were alerted to a report of a baby in cardiac arrest. Paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service were called at approximately 8:39 a.m. that morning, with police officers arriving at the scene off Strawberry Lane shortly after 8:45 a.m. An air ambulance was also dispatched. Despite the efforts of medical staff, the child was pronounced dead at the scene. Following the discovery, a 42-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman, both from south Staffordshire, were arrested at the location. Also arrested were a 20-year-old woman from Wolverhampton and an 18-year-old man from Walsall. All four individuals were taken into custody on suspicion of murder. Staffordshire Police confirmed that all four have since been released on bail with conditions while inquiries continue.
