Former Dodgers utility player Matt Beaty retires at 33

Matt Beaty, a former utility player for the Los Angeles Dodgers and a member of their 2020 World Series championship team, has officially announced his retirement from professional baseball. The 33-year-old confirmed the decision in an Instagram post on August 24, 2026, bringing a close to a career that spanned parts of five Major League seasons with four organizations. Beaty's announcement came after nearly two years away from his final professional appearance. His last game in the majors was with the Kansas City Royals on September 6, 2023.
