Former Border Patrol Commander Claims Trump Officials Want Him Dead

Published 28 August 2026

Gregory Bovino, a former senior U.S. Border Patrol commander, has alleged that senior Trump administration officials want him dead and intentionally withdrew his federal security detail to silence him. The claims, made during an interview with Tucker Carlson published on August 27, 2026, have been rejected by the White House as absurd. Bovino, who served as the Border Patrol's commander-at-large from October 2025 to January 2026, stated that his security protection was removed shortly after he left the agency in March 2026. He described himself as one of the highest security threats within the Department of Homeland Security due to numerous death threats against him and his family.
