Firefox iOS Gets Built-In Ad Blocker With Update
Mozilla has introduced a built-in ad blocker for its Firefox browser on iOS, a feature that arrived with the Firefox 155 update after several weeks of testing. The new tool, which is switched off by default, uses Apple's WebKit content blocker technology and the community-maintained EasyList filter to strip out third-party advertisements and tracking scripts before they load on a user's screen. The ad-blocking capability is designed to reduce clutter and improve page loading times for mobile web browsing. Users must manually enable it in the Firefox settings under the browsing section, and they can also toggle protection on or off for individual websites directly from the address bar menu.
