Fire at Russia's Amur gas plant kills 7, including 6 Chinese

A fire at a major gas chemical complex under construction in Russia's far eastern Amur region has killed at least seven people, including six Chinese nationals, and left nine others missing, according to the plant's operator. The incident also injured more than 150 people, with dozens hospitalized. The blaze occurred on August 25 at the Amur Gas Chemical Complex, a joint venture between Russian petrochemical company Sibur and Chinese state-owned energy giant Sinopec. The plant reported on August 26 that a total of seven fatalities had been confirmed. Among the dead were six citizens of China and one Russian national.
