FIR filed against Mamata Banerjee over alleged violation of Calcutta HC order

Kolkata Police registered a first information report on Saturday against former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and organisers of the Trinamool Chhatra Parishad for allegedly violating conditions imposed by the Calcutta High Court during a student wing rally the previous day. The case was filed at Hastings Police Station following the foundation day event held on Cathedral Road in central Kolkata on Friday, August 28. The FIR was registered suo motu by police after examining the court's order, which had granted conditional permission for the meeting.
