Final Fantasy 7 Revelation Director Reveals 200GB Install Size

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, the concluding chapter of Square Enix's remake trilogy, will require approximately 200 gigabytes of storage space, according to the game's director. Naoki Hamaguchi disclosed the estimated file size in an interview at the Tokyo Game Show 2026, explaining that the physical edition will ship with a single disc and require an additional download to play the full game. "Things are still getting worked out, but it's probably going to be around 200GB of game," Hamaguchi said. "I understand there are a lot of opinions about this topic, but at the end of the day, the fact is we need to overcome the hardware to a certain extent." The announcement clarifies the reason behind the previously revealed hybrid physical release. While Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Rebirth shipped on multiple discs, allowing for a complete on-disc experience, Revelation's physical version will contain only partial data. Hamaguchi stated that delivering a physical product remained important to the team, even as the industry moves toward digital distribution. The 200GB estimate represents a significant increase over the previous entries.
