Fermin Aldeguer joins VR46 Ducati for 2027-2028 MotoGP seasons

Spanish rider Fermin Aldeguer will join Valentino Rossi's VR46 Ducati team for the 2027 and 2028 MotoGP seasons, the team announced on August 26, 2026. The 21-year-old will move from the Gresini Racing squad to become an official Ducati Corse factory rider, equipped with a factory-spec Desmosedici GP motorcycle. Aldeguer, who is in his second premier-class season, will step up to the same machinery used by Ducati's factory team riders, Marc Marquez and Pedro Acosta. The move marks the first time a non-Italian rider has been signed to race for Rossi's team. His contract with Ducati, originally signed in 2024, was extended earlier this year, securing his services through 2028.
