A father and a bystander drowned at a beach in northeast England on Sunday, July 12, after attempting to rescue two children caught in rough seas. The children, a boy and a girl, were saved unharmed thanks to the efforts of other beachgoers at Seaton Carew beach near Hartlepool, County Durham.
