Faridabad Teen Dies After Fall From School Building

A 16-year-old student died after falling from the third floor of a private school in Faridabad on Tuesday, an incident that has sparked conflicting accounts between her family and school authorities. The student, identified as Jhanvi, was a Class 11 pupil at Navodaya Vidya Niketan Senior Secondary School on Dabua-Ghazipur Road. According to police and family members, the incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. School staff rushed Jhanvi to a local private hospital, from where she was referred to BK Hospital. Doctors at BK Hospital declared her dead on arrival due to injuries sustained in the fall. Jhanvi's father, Pramod Kumar, has alleged that his daughter was punished by a teacher earlier that day. He told reporters that a dispute had occurred among some female students over eating biryani in the classroom. Kumar claimed his daughter was unfairly disciplined and made to stand outside in the sun for nearly four hours as punishment. He stated that she felt humiliated and deeply distressed by the treatment. "She was doing well in her studies.
