Erika Kirk Marks One Year Since Charlie Kirk's Death

Published 11 September 2026

Erika Kirk marked the first anniversary of her husband Charlie Kirk's death on Thursday, September 10, by sharing a black-and-white photograph from their wedding day, showing the couple holding hands, captioned with the message Until heaven. The Turning Point USA co-founder was fatally shot on September 10, 2025, while taking part in a campus discussion at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. He was 31 years old and is survived by Erika and the couple's two children. According to a family spokesperson, Erika Kirk spent the anniversary privately with her two young children, family members and close friends, and remains grateful for the prayers, love and support the family has received during the year since the killing. The family said it remembers Charlie primarily as a beloved husband and father. Her decision to observe the day privately meant she was not expected to attend a planned vigil at Utah Valley University on Thursday evening. Public commemorations continued around the country. Turning Point USA organized events at its Phoenix headquarters and near the Utah campus, with additional gatherings planned elsewhere in the United States and overseas.
