Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi has tested positive for the H1N1 influenza virus, commonly known as swine flu, forcing him to postpone a highly anticipated live performance in Bengaluru. The diagnosis was confirmed through medical tests on August 28, 2026, following a period of rigorous travel for movie promotions. Hashmi began experiencing flu-like symptoms after returning from recent work-related trips, including a visit to Ranchi. After feeling unwell for several days, he underwent testing which revealed the H1N1 infection. Doctors have advised the actor to strictly isolate, take bed rest, and follow standard recovery protocols to prevent further transmission. A grand event titled "The Emraan Era," scheduled for August 29 at Sunburn Union in Bengaluru, was set to mark Hashmi's return to live stage performances after nearly two decades.
