Elizabeth Holmes Doc Premieres at Telluride

A new documentary offering an intimate look at disgraced Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes, titled "You Can See Everything," premiered Sunday night at the Telluride Film Festival. Directed by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, the film was secretly made over three years, beginning just 34 days before Holmes reported to federal prison. The documentary, backed by A24, is scheduled for a theatrical release in October. It delves into Holmes's life in the period leading up to her incarceration, granting filmmakers unprecedented access. According to the film's official description, what started as an intimate portrait of the former Silicon Valley entrepreneur evolved into a "mindbending three-year journey into the abyss." Holmes was convicted in January 2022 on four counts of defrauding investors by making false claims about the capabilities of her company's blood-testing technology. She was sentenced to more than 11 years in prison and began serving her sentence on May 30, 2023, at a federal facility in Texas. Her sentence has since been reduced for good behavior, with an expected release date in late 2031.
