EastEnders star Sophie Khan Levy exits show and confirms pregnancy

Sophie Khan Levy has confirmed she is leaving EastEnders after three years playing Priya Nandra-Hart, announcing in a farewell video shared by the show that she is pregnant in real life as her final scenes aired on 22 September 2026. In the behind-the-scenes video, the 37-year-old actress gestured to her baby bump as she addressed colleagues and viewers. "I can't believe I have to leave, but I do because there's something coming imminently," she said, thanking fans for their support over her three-year stint. "Watch this space. Who knows if Priya will make a return?" The cast and crew gathered outside the wedding venue used for location shooting to mark the occasion. Executive producer Ben Wadey presented Khan Levy with an Albert Square sign and thanked her for what he called an extraordinary three years, noting the challenge of joining as a new character and quickly becoming an icon. He added that she would be very missed and wished her well on what he described as a probably more important adventure. Khan Levy joined the BBC soap in 2023. Her final scenes were filmed out of sequence during location shooting for the wedding of Max Branning and Cindy Beale.
