Dyson expands into AI-integrated robots and oral care

Published 4 September 2026

Dyson has unveiled a major expansion of its product portfolio, introducing a new family of robot cleaners, its first oral-care device, and updated air-treatment and hair-styling products. The announcement was made at the Dyson Unveiled event in Berlin on September 3, 2026, positioning the company's shift toward appliances that integrate artificial intelligence, vision systems, and sensor-based automation. Chief Engineer Jake Dyson described the new direction as a move beyond mechanical performance alone. "Now Dyson is moving beyond hardware into an era of intelligent appliances that can see, think and respond," he said. "We will use AI, vision systems and machine learning across products for oral care, hair and the home so that they can understand the environments in which they operate." The most significant new lineup is the Nurovi range, a three-model series of robot cleaners built around automated sensing. The flagship R3 Nurovi SpotScrub UV features an AI-based stain-detection system that uses vision, UV light, and green illumination to identify nearly 200 types of household substances. Dyson states the robot can repeatedly clean stained areas until they are removed.
