Dtcpay Completes $25M Series A With SBI Group Investment
Singapore-based stablecoin payments company dtcpay has completed a $25 million Series A funding round, with Japan's SBI Group joining as a strategic investor. The round, initially led by Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia India, now includes SBI, Genedant Capital, and existing investor Kwee Liong Tek. The company plans to use the capital to expand its product suite, merchant network, and regulated international operations. This includes a redesigned business portal for enterprise clients and new consumer app features. The funding round follows a $16.5 million pre-Series A round announced in June 2023. SBI Group invested through SBI Ventures Asset Pte. Ltd. and the SBI-NTU-Kyobo Digital Innovation Fund. The investment adds a strategic dimension to the financing, as SBI builds several businesses around blockchain settlement and digital payments. The company did not disclose how much SBI invested, the ownership stake attached, or a new valuation. "We did not raise this round to sustain what we have built," said Alice Liu, founder and CEO of dtcpay. "We raised it to fundamentally change how money moves across borders.
