Drilling begins at Turkey’s Durupınar formation

Researchers working with Noah’s Ark Scans say core drilling has begun at the Durupınar formation in eastern Turkey, collecting physical samples to test claims about unusual features beneath the boat-shaped mound. The investigation is intended to examine competing explanations for the formation; it has not established that the site is human-made or that it contains Noah’s Ark. The research team has interpreted ground-penetrating radar readings as possible corridors, cavities and layered structures. Radar detects underground boundaries through returning signals, however, and does not provide photographs of rooms or prove that any features were built by people. Researchers say the readings are guiding where they take core samples. The team has said organic material recovered from cores is being tested.
